Students will think about what makes someone courageous.
Students will begin to analyze what makes a good TED talk.
Today we read the article “William’s Windmill” and watched his TED talk. We discussed what elements could make William’s TED talk more effective.
More importantly, we started discussing what elements make TED talks effective. We’ve watched two TED talks so far: Kid President and William Kamkwamba. Some of the elements you, as a class, noted were:
Have a speaker who is interesting or unique
Creating an emotion in your audience, whether it’s empowering, motivational or inspiring.
Choose a topic that helps bring awareness to help change the world and that an every day person can accomplish.
Provide evidence to back up your claims.
Be energetic and enthusiastic
