Learning Goal:
Last friday, you were assigned a poem by me and you worked through your TP-CASTT worksheet (an e-copy can be found on Edmodo).
Monday, you were to practice writing your journal. This journal is where you express your thoughts and emotions about the poem. Remember, even though it's an informal piece of writing, you still need to provide examples and explain why you felt that way. In addition, if you pose questions about the poem, you should provide some sort of possible solution.
I posted a sample journal for "The Road Not Taken," on Edmodo.
Today (Tuesday) you were to work through the TP-CASTT analysis "paragraph" of your poem. Remember to follow the paragraph structure of POINT PROOF COMMENT. You don't need to follow the proper paragraph structure that we learned in class, but you should still write formally. Provide lines from the poem.
For this "paragraph" or series of short paragraphs, each paragraph should be one of the headings from TP-CASTT. So total, you will have approximately 5-6 short paragraphs.
I will post a sample of this analysis on Edmodo.
- Students will work through the various writing tasks for the poetry anthology with a partner using a poem assigned by the teacher.
- These tasks include: (1) the Journal and (2) the TP-CASTT Analysis
