Learning Goal:
Today students will recall short story terms and apply them to a sight story read in class.
Today was the second day of class, and unfortunately, I wasn't in class today. However, you wrote a diagnostic test.
You may be asking, "What is a diagnostic test?" I use a this kind of test (which isn't worth marks, by the way) to figure out where my students are at in terms of their learning.
Since we're starting the course with a writing unit where we will be reading short stories, I want to make sure that all of my students are on the same page, literally and figuratively (haha ... that's an English teacher's joke).
Many of you have already read the short story, "On the Sidewalk Bleeding," But what is really being tested is your knowledge of the short story terms with which you should already be familiar.
