Students will learn the various literature roles.
Student will apply their literature circle role to reading the myth of Perseus from Greek mythology.
Today you learned about the various literature circle roles. These roles include:
1. Discussion Director - your role is to lead the discussion with your group.
2. Summarizer - your job is to summarize the story for your group members into 5-6 important details from the story.
3. Visualizer - your role is to visualize the story for your classmates. You can draw a scene from the story or make a collage of images that come to mind.
4. Passage Picker - your role is to pick three (3) passages from the story. These passages should be significant in some way. Explain to your group why you chose them.
5. Connectory - your job is to make connections in three ways: text to self; text to world; and text to text.
Today you were assigned your role, read the story, and prepared your role. During tomorrow's class, you will discuss your role with your group and by extention, discuss the story of Perseus.
